Het bedrijf zou tot op de dag van vandaag een grote rol blijven spelen in de ontwikkeling en verkopen van beeldvormende techniek. Waren het vroeger röntgentechnieken, tegenwoordig wordt Philips medical systems vooral geassocieerd met MRI en CT scanners.

With the production of X-ray tubes (this one built by the Hamburg firm CHF Müller) and later complete devices, Philips entered the medical market. The firm would continue to play a large role in the development and sales of imaging technologies. Today they are most associated with MRI and CT scanners.
